Our Cows

Our cows are an important part of Dejama's natural ecosystem. They help

maintain healthy grasslands while naturally fertilizing the soil. The manure

is also used in our compost that we use to grow all our plants.

Cash and Berta are pet cows, they love a hug. Don’t hesitate to come say hi and

give them a pat.

Our Chickens

Our chickens help reduce food waste by consuming suitable kitchen

scraps. They also produce fresh eggs daily for our yummy breakfast or

nasi goreng.

Solar Power

Part of Dejama is powered by solar energy, allowing us to reduce our dependence on conventional electricity and lower our environmental footprint while maintaining your comfort.

Organic Garden Nursery & Agroforest

Many of the herbs, vegetables, fruits and tropical plants you'll see around the property are grown in our organic garden and nursery. These spaces support biodiversity and provide fresh ingredients whenever possible.

Repurposed Shipping Container

At Dejama, we believe in giving existing materials a new purpose. Our Two-Bedroom Cabin, Kitchen, and Reception were all thoughtfully created using repurposed shipping containers.

By transforming these containers into welcoming and functional spaces, we reduce construction waste, minimise the use of new building materials, and demonstrate our commitment to innovative, sustainable design.

What was once built for transport has been reimagined as spaces where guests can stay, gather, and connect with the Dejama experience.

Swimming Lessons for Local Children

As part of our commitment to supporting the local community, Dejama regularly hosts swimming lessons for children from the nearby school.

These sessions provide valuable life skills while creating opportunities for young members of the community to learn and grow. Guests will be informed in advance when lessons are scheduled, and many appreciate the opportunity to see how their stay contributes to meaningful local initiatives.

By opening our space to the community in this way, we strengthen our connection with the people of Lombok and create a positive impact that extends beyond the retreat.
